6 Main Reasons Why Sprocket Bolts Keep Loosening

1. Insufficient tightening torque

    

   Class 12.9 high-strength bolts must be tightened to the standard torque with a torque wrench. Insufficient torque will cause the bolts to loosen under stress.
    
2. Not tightened diagonally

    

   Bolts must be tightened crosswise and diagonally. Tightening in a full circle results in uneven stress, which will definitely cause loosening.

   

    
3. No thread locker applied

    

   High-strength thread locker (271/272) must be used for ring gear and sprocket bolts. Without thread locker, bolts will inevitably loosen.
    
4. Unclean contact surfaces

    

   Oil, rust, old adhesive, or metal debris prevent proper clamping. The bolts will loosen under vibration.
    
5. Deformed or worn bolts/flange surfaces

    

   Stretched old bolts, stripped threads, or uneven ring gear surfaces all lead to poor clamping.
    
6. Strong machine vibration

    

   Excavators and bulldozers generate intense vibration. Ordinary installation methods cannot withstand such working conditions.
